About The Position

Ramboll is seeking a Principal with a focus on air quality to join their team. This role offers an opportunity for local leadership and advancement, particularly for recognized leaders in the consulting marketplace for the Baton Rouge, LA area. The successful candidate will provide technical and business leadership, contribute to innovative solutions across various sectors, and generate sufficient business to support the growth of the firm. The position requires experience in managing consulting assignments, working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, proficiency in analyzing and communicating information, and the ability to guide decision-making cooperatively with agencies and organizations. Project management proficiency is also expected, along with a commitment to mentoring junior staff and collaborating with colleagues.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of related air science experience, largely in a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
  • Understanding of air quality issues and agency-approved methods and guidance
  • Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
  • Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings, to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit application materials
  • Testifying at administrative and/or court hearings
  • Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings
  • Conducting site visits
