About The Position

As a Principal AI Researcher, you will join a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, and drug hunters working to advance scalable biomedical discovery. You will work at the forefront of AI-powered drug discovery, advancing frontier research and end-to-end applications across discovery, design, and translation.

Recursion is pursuing a unified biomedical world model that bridges virtual patients and virtual cells and turns real-world data into a discovery engine connecting clinical care and drug discovery. The company provides an environment combining frontier research, industrialized wet and dry labs, and real-world delivery, with close feedback loops and rapid iteration.

Recursion is a clinical-stage TechBio company developing an AI-native drug discovery and development platform, the Recursion OS, which integrates biology, chemistry, and clinical development. Its infrastructure includes automated biology and chemistry laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Milton Park, Oxfordshire, as well as offices in New York, Montréal, and London.

Requirements

• PhD in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 10 years of frontier AI research experience.
• Experience working with large datasets and cross-functional AI projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for real-world applications and impact.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in biomedicine and drug discovery; willingness to learn is required.
