About The Position

Fidelity is seeking an experienced principal AI/ML engineer to support the growing needs of the Cognitive Computing Platform’s Knowledge Enablement area. The role combines large-scale enterprise software delivery and machine-learning engineering. The engineer will work with data scientists to explore natural-language-processing data analysis methods, build and implement models, and support model operations. Experience with MLOps is highly preferred.

As part of the platform team, the engineer will help create and support a platform that enables customers to interact with Fidelity in natural language across relevant channels. The role involves architecting solutions and leading teams that deliver enterprise-scale conversational experiences across Fidelity businesses, helping customers manage their finances and make confident choices.

The position calls for hands-on technical leadership from conception through production, collaboration across organizations, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. Fidelity’s onsite working model is undergoing a phased regional and role-based rollout; onsite requirements vary and may evolve.

Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with software development and delivery cycles, including leading teams implementing them.
• Experience architecting large-scale systems.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Node.js or Python.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience building and evaluating natural-language-processing-related machine-learning models.
• Experience with MLOps to automate machine-learning model service refresh cycles.
• Experience integrating machine-learning model services with an existing runtime conversation-handling system.
• Advanced education in a computer science- or data science-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience working in the financial services industry focused on IT solutions.
• Ability to lead teams from conception to production and synthesize business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Ability to work across organizations, operate in a polyglot development environment, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Desire and aptitude for learning new technologies and approaches.

• Previous knowledge and experience in MLOps.
