About The Position

The Principal AI/ML Engineer will support the Cognitive Computing Platform’s Knowledge Enablement area. The platform enables customers to interact with Fidelity in natural language across relevant channels. The engineer will combine large-scale enterprise software delivery with machine learning engineering, working with data scientists to analyze NLP data, experiment with machine learning tools and frameworks, and build and implement models. MLOps experience is highly preferred.

This role architects solutions and leads teams implementing scalable, enterprise-wide capabilities across Fidelity businesses. It focuses on creating intuitive conversational experiences and translating business needs into scalable technology solutions. The engineer will set architecture direction for omnichannel experiences, implement solutions on a scrum team, promote quality and sustainability through automation, and coach team members. Fidelity states that its onsite expectations are transitioning through a phased regional and role-based rollout; the job description does not specify the onsite requirement for this particular role.

Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with software development and delivery cycles and architecting large-scale systems, including experience leading teams implementing solutions.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with NodeJS or Python and REST APIs.
• Experience building and evaluating natural language processing-related machine learning models.
• Ability to lead teams from conception to production.
• Ability to synthesize business needs into scalable technology solutions and work across organizations.
• Ability to operate in a polyglot development environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced education in a computer science- or data science-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience working in the financial services industry focused on IT solutions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous knowledge and experience in MLOps.
• Familiarity with Fidelity software delivery methodologies, DevOps tools, and best practices.
• Desire and aptitude for learning new technologies and approaches.
