About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Principal Accountant/Assistant Sector Controller in the L3Harris Space and Mission Systems Segment, Maritime Sector. Reporting to the Maritime Sector Controller, this key position will contribute to the organization in the following ways: The role involves building and maintaining relationships with business and financial leaders, coordinating financial reporting requirements and deliverables for the Maritime Sector, and reviewing financial reporting for international business units during close cycles. The position also requires partnering with Program Managers to review Estimates at Completion (EACs) on various contract types, and leading or participating in process design, improvements, and special projects. Additionally, the role supports internal and external audits, including DCAA, Statutory, and U.S. GAAP Audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 12 years of accounting experience with Bachelor’s or 10 years with Master’s with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
• Experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast- close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines
• Experience in a complex ERP environment with additional systems for reporting
• Experience with facilitation with internal and external audits

• CPA Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with business and financial leaders across the sector
• Coordinate, communicate and track financial reporting requirements and deliverables for the Maritime Sector to ensure on-time delivery
• Coordinate and review financial reporting deliverables for Maritime’s 7 international business units during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
• Partner with Program Managers to review Estimates at Completion (EACs) on Fixed-Price (FFP) and Cost-Reimbursable (CPFF/CPIF) contracts.
• Lead, coordinate or participate in process design and documentation, process improvements, segment and corporate initiatives, and other special projects
• Support internal and external audits. This includes supporting the DCAA, Statutory, U.S. GAAP Audits.
