About The Position

The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and facilitates therapy sessions. The role collaborates with clients’ treatment teams and connects directly with families. Therapy is provided within Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and the Attachment-Based Family Therapy model.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, or enrollment in a doctorate program from an accredited or state-approved graduate school.
• Board registration (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or Psychologic Associate status in the state where services are provided.
• Experience facilitating therapy with young adults and/or adolescents.
• A patient-first mindset and commitment to high standards of care.
• Cultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills to build constructive, effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and families.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to use available information to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a compassionate, informative point of contact for clients’ family members.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions within Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and the Attachment-Based Family Therapy model.
• Lead family orientations, welcome presentations, and family support groups.
• Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment and safety plans.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions.
