About The Position

The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and facilitates therapy sessions. The role involves collaborating with clients’ treatment teams and communicating directly with families. The therapist facilitates individual, group, and family therapy within Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and the Attachment-Based Family Therapy model, and leads family orientations, welcome presentations, and support groups. The therapist also conducts intake assessments, develops individualized treatment and safety plans, and participates in treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, or enrollment in a doctorate program from an accredited or state-approved graduate school.
• Board registration (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, or MHCA) or status as a Psychologic Associate in the state where services are provided.
• Experience facilitating therapy with young adults and/or adolescents.
• Patient-first mindset and commitment to high standards of care.
• Cultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills to build constructive and effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and families.
• Problem-solving skills, including the ability to use available information to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a compassionate, informative point of contact for clients’ family members.
