About The Position

Responsibilities include providing clinical services to the clients of Victory Bay who are diagnosed with a mental health and/or substance use disorder. The therapist will assist with the development of coping skills and emotional regulation. The therapist will be responsible for a minimum of 20-30 hours of direct client care, which consists of a variety of group and individual sessions on a weekly basis. The therapist is expected to meet with clients on caseload on a weekly basis. Therapists are expected to make consistent contact with family or support members.

Requirements

  • Associate licensed therapist required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in a Treatment Facility.
  • Current CPR Certification is highly desirable.
  • Narcan Certified is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills to meet Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record software requirements.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work ethic and a congenial attitude in the face of a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to function independently and with flexibility.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the counseling needs of the client.
  • Assess client for substance abuse and mental health diagnosis using DSM, PHQ-9 and Columbia Scale criteria in determining appropriate level of care based on ASAM and DSM criteria.
  • Review previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode.
  • Prepare and provide the substance abuse counseling and co-occurring portions of the client treatment plan.
  • Develop the client discharge/continuum of care plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care.
  • Document all client records, counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in the client’s clinical record.
  • Provide coordination of support services for the client/family and record the services provided in the client’s clinical record.
  • Contact and coordination with referral sources (e.g., legal, school, employer, etc.).
  • Facilitate needed interventions for crisis-oriented issues utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach for assigned clients.
  • Facilitate group sessions.
  • Documenting: Discharge, Individual Sessions, Weekly Calls, Level of care changes, group sessions and treatment plans.
  • Assist and cover other staff when necessary to maintain high productivity and efficiency in the department.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Use outstanding oral and written communication with employees at all levels of the business for support and sharing of information.
  • Take constructive feedback and prevent discourse among peers.
  • Think critically to find solutions when problems arise.
  • Accept constructive criticism well in an open and non-defensive manner.
  • Wear business casual attire.
