About The Position

Liberty Tax Service is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Primary Tax Support Advisor to provide prompt, professional, and courteous support to the field. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Employees receive technical tax training during employment. The position may develop into a permanent role and offers the possibility of moving to Advanced or Senior Tax Advisor positions.

The position may be performed at a corporate office in Hurst, Texas, or Virginia Beach, Virginia, or remotely. The employee is expected to convey Liberty Tax’s R.E.A.L. mission and values, and the company encourages team bonding and interaction with colleagues. Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in taxation, accounting, or tax preparation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax support services for individual and business tax returns through inbound and outbound calls and the Liberty Tax ticketing system.
• Research tax laws, regulations, and rulings to stay current and provide accurate information and guidance.
• Prepare tax returns and review tax returns as needed.
• Follow the policies documented in the Internal Process Manual.
• Accurately document customer issues, relevant information, and resolutions.
• Promptly communicate high-impact issues to supervisors.
• Work nights and weekends as scheduled.
• De-escalate situations and interact patiently with internal and external contacts.
• Participate in department projects and team meetings.
