About The Position

Olive Vista Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Primary Counselor to join their dynamic team. The role involves therapeutic support, assessment, individual and group counseling, and implementing behavioral programs. The counselor will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, supervised by the Program Director, to offer treatment options, problem-solve, and assist clients with stress, mental health challenges, and life issues. Responsibilities include maintaining case notes, monitoring progress, and contributing to treatment plan development.

Requirements

Two years' direct care work experience in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral setting; or
Two years of college-level coursework including behavioral health; or
A combination of relevant experience and education totaling two years.

Nice To Haves

Background education in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Provide crucial therapeutic support to clients by assessing their needs.
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
Implement individualized behavioral programs.
Work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the Program Director.
Offer treatment options, help resolve problems, and assist clients in managing stress, mental health challenges, and other life issues.
Maintain case notes.
Monitor client progress.
Actively participate in the development of treatment plans.
