The Primary Care Sales Consultant Striker (SC) is responsible for implementing sales strategies for an approved Cardiorenal product within an assigned territory, adhering to Bayer's compliance standards and all applicable legal requirements. This role targets key Health Care Providers (HCPs) and hospital systems. The position reports to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and is a key member of the Area Customer Squad, collaborating with other consultants, Marketing, FRM, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical, and other internal partners to achieve US Pharma outcomes. The role requires travel up to 50% within the territory and is residence-based, requiring the candidate to be domiciled within the assigned territory. The initial territories mentioned are Anaheim/Irvine, California and surrounding areas, and San Jose West and South, San Francisco Bay area up to Golden Gate and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in developing long-standing relationships with customers.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to foster an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to comply with any customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up-to-date vaccinations, trainings).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5 years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience in competitive landscapes.
  • In-depth knowledge in the cardiovascular and/or diabetes and/or menopause disease states.
  • Product launch experience.
  • Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
  • Virtual Sales Experience.
  • Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop professional relationships with primary care, nephrology, endocrinology, cardiology, and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular and menopause products, with potential to add neurology drugs later.
  • Work closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local payers and community HCPs.
  • Leverage expertise in diabetes, cardiovascular, neurology, chronic kidney disease, and menopause markets, including competitors and cross-functional activities, to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide input to commercial colleagues (e.g., sales leadership, regional account directors) on strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region.
  • Develop and implement effective customer-specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize time and effort to ensure optimal coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
  • Understand assigned customers' product and business needs and work to meet them while adhering to Bayer's ethics and compliance standards.
  • Anticipate potential barriers to achieving goals and propose responsible solutions.
  • Handle customer objections effectively and exceed customer expectations.
  • Occasionally share exemplary skills with others in the region in a training capacity.
  • Leverage emerging technologies & AI to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
  • Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying high ethical standards.
