Primary Care Provider
About The Position
We are seeking a Primary Care Provider to support the Veteran community in the Dayton, OH area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The role involves clinic hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a 1-year base contract and option periods. The provider will be responsible for evaluation and treatment, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, discussing end-of-life preferences, consulting with sub-specialists, arranging follow-up care, and performing minor procedures like abscess incision and drainage and fecal occult blood testing.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- A current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
- Candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

Responsibilities
- Evaluation and treatment, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic examinations, and the ordering of medications.
- Discussion of end-of-life preferences/advanced care planning
- Consultations with sub-specialists
- Discharge including ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged.
- Abscess incision and drainage
- Fecal occult blood testing
