About The Position

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Primary Care Physician. This role involves providing comprehensive primary care services to Veterans at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The physician will collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and coordinate patient care in accordance with VA policies, clinical standards, and scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Experience providing primary care services consistent with the required scope of care.
  • Current VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent.
  • Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Current CV documenting education, training, and professional qualifications.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care evaluation and treatment.
  • Obtain and evaluate patient histories and clinical information.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic examinations, and other appropriate diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans within approved clinical privileges.
  • Coordinate consultations with appropriate specialists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide consultation and guidance regarding appropriate clinical workups and treatment.
  • Discuss advance care planning and end-of-life preferences when appropriate.
  • Coordinate patient discharge and ensure appropriate follow-up care is arranged.
  • Initiate appropriate social work referrals for Veterans requiring additional support.
  • Perform approved procedures within scope of practice and granted clinical privileges.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the VA electronic health record.
  • Complete required Evaluation and Management documentation and coding.
  • Communicate test results and treatment information in accordance with VA requirements.
  • Participate in daily team huddles, staff meetings, quality improvement activities, peer review, and other required clinical meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection control, privacy, and healthcare quality standards.
