About The Position

The Primary Care Physician diagnoses medical conditions and orders appropriate laboratory tests, imaging studies (e.g., X-rays), and other diagnostic procedures as needed. Collaborates with other agencies or health facilities on behalf of patients and their families to arrange admissions to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. Organizes emergency ground and/or air medical transport as required. Analyzes clinical data, develops therapeutic programs, and communicates information effectively to patients and their families. The Primary Care Physician provides support to patients and families in times of illness. Maintains accurate and timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) with detailed clinical documentation, including diagnosis codes. Completes all EHR notes within 24 hours of patient encounters. Prescribes medications and treatment therapies in coordination with nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare personnel. Follows up on treatment plans and monitors patient progress. Recognizes the need for referral to a mental health professional when necessary. The Primary Care Physician consults independently with medical and surgical specialists to discuss patient care and arrange referrals as needed to appropriate health facilities.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine with an MD or DO degree.
  • At least 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years in a similar role at a public or private institution.
  • Current DEA.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license in California.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
