About The Position

Northeast Medical Group is seeking a Primary Care Physician for its Internal Medicine practice located in North Haven, CT. This is a full-time, employed position within the Yale New Haven Health System. The practice is busy and collegial, consisting of 4 physicians and 5 APRNs, with a 1:1 provider to support staff ratio. The position offers an excellent work-life balance with 36 patient hours per week, 4 admin hours, and the availability of a four-day work week. New graduates are encouraged to apply. The practice utilizes the EPIC EMR system and offers an AI scribe service. This role is an academic/clinical affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine, located in a charming suburban town close to the ocean and New Haven metro area.

Requirements

  • Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
  • Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration
  • Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license
  • BLS certification
  • Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests
  • Involves patients and their families in care and treatment decisions
  • Creates treatment plans and completes orders in patient's charts
  • Collaborates on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians and management
  • Initiates appropriate specialty referrals
  • Provides clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
  • Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate and complete
  • Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment
  • Achieves and maintains optimal patient access
  • Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
