About The Position

Primary Care Physician Assistant Patients remember the clinician who listens, decides, and follows through. In this role you will own a panel’s day-to-day care—preventive visits, acute problems, and chronic disease—so more people leave with a clear plan and a next step. Success is measured in access, outcomes, and trust, not hours logged.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited PA program and current NCCPA certification.
  • Active state license (or eligibility) and DEA registration, or a clear path to both before start.
  • At least two years in outpatient primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine, including independent chronic-disease management.
  • Proven comfort with EHR documentation, e-prescribing, and quality reporting.
  • Skill in shared decision-making with adults across ages, languages, and health literacy levels.
  • Ability to work within physician supervision requirements while owning your schedule and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined primary care panel, completing same-day and scheduled visits with accurate diagnoses, treatment plans, and documented follow-up.
  • Close care gaps for hypertension, diabetes, preventive screenings, and immunizations so quality measures improve quarter over quarter.
  • Reduce avoidable delays by triaging acuity, coordinating labs and referrals, and resolving results within agreed turnaround times.
  • Partner with physicians on complex cases, escalating promptly and presenting a recommended plan rather than an open question.
  • Earn patient confidence: high visit completion, clear after-visit instructions, and fewer unplanned returns for the same problem.
  • Keep the chart useful—problem lists, medications, and orders current before the encounter ends.

Benefits

  • CME support
