About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in an outpatient clinic setting. The role involves providing comprehensive care to adult patients, diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on healthy lifestyles. The position requires collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers, as well as accurate documentation of patient care. Multiple openings are available across McDonough, Lithonia, Duluth, and Jonesboro, GA, with an initial 3-month contract and potential for extension. This role is a 1099 independent contractor position.

Requirements

  • Active Georgia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Primary Care experience or equivalent
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Georgia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
