About The Position

Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in a private office setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Supports physician(s) to develop and maintain patients. Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including facilitating hospital admissions and prescriptive authority. Incorporates current research findings into clinical practice; participates in pertinent areas of clinical research, disseminating findings. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required (for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses)
  • Current Texas professional registered nurse license (for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses)
  • Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license (for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses)
  • Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner required (for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses)
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (for Physician Assistants)
  • Current Texas professional physician assistant license (for Physician Assistants)
  • Certified as a PA-C (for Physician Assistants)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or 2 years experience as a PNP or FNP in a primary care setting is strongly preferred (for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses)
  • Minimum of two years of Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in a related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with a high volume of pediatric patients) strongly preferred (for Physician Assistants)
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
