Nordson Measurement & Control is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pricing Specialist to join their team. The role involves working with the Growth and Strategy team and product line managers to manage overall pricing activities for Nordson MCS equipment, parts, and services. This highly visible position collaborates with division and regional commercial partners in Product Management, Product Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance. The Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing, monitoring, and optimizing pricing strategy through process control and variance analysis to achieve objectives for mix, revenue, margin, and share. The role also serves as the division pricing analyst, ensuring data sources are available and secure, and develops and defines price guidelines for price effectiveness. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in pricing, accounting, finance, planning, marketing, product management or engineering with industrial or capital equipment business
  • Strong people skills along with the ability to communicate and work with cross-functional, global teams at all levels in the organization
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Comfortable collaborating with Sr. Management, engineering, sales, customers, product management and operations
  • Strong analytical skills, using large data sets and multiple data sources
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns and integrate disparate data sources
  • Proficient in data management / advanced analytical software (Excel or PowerBi) is preferred
  • Enterprise software experience (SAP & SalesForce preferred)
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts
  • Excellent writing, presentation and reporting skills
  • Curious problem solver, takes initiative and works well independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Growth and Strategy team and product line managers on management of overall pricing activities for Nordson MCS equipment, parts and services
  • Developing, monitoring and optimizing pricing strategy through process control and variance analysis to achieve objectives for mix, revenue, margin and share
  • Serving as the division pricing analyst, ensuring data sources are available and secure
  • Developing and defining price guidelines for price effectiveness
  • Conducting regular analysis of win/loss analysis, sales pricing patterns and application of discounts
  • Leading the annual pricing initiative - plan, manage and execute
  • Provides monthly KPI reporting
  • Tracking the impact of pricing decisions over time and making price adjustments to achieve objectives
  • Partnering with product specialists and product managers to position line of business (LoB) product portfolios and establish pricing programs aligned with product/sales strategy and revenue recognition requirements
  • Consulting on recurring revenue pricing models for value-added services and subscription solutions
  • Works cross functionally on key strategic initiatives and NPD projects
  • Collaborating on price discipline initiatives - shipping, discounts, category / segment -based price optimization, and cost-to-serve
  • Maintaining product knowledge and stay informed in on product life cycle, industry pricing practices and implications of geopolitical and economic conditions (macro and micro)
  • Performs other ad-hoc duties as assigned
