About The Position

The Pricing Specialist plays a key role in developing and implementing pricing strategies that optimize revenue, market share, and profitability for ELSE in the US. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from market analysis to stakeholder communication and pricing execution. This position is open to remote candidates with preference for someone near to a key ABB facility (Cary, NC; Atlanta, GA; Bloomfield, CT) to be able to go onsite and support in-person when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years’ Marketing or similar experience, or no degree and 10+ years’ experience in Marketing or related field
  • Strong ability to analyze market data, pricing trends, and customer behavior.
  • Knowledge of pricing processes
  • Ability to negotiate/influence pricing proposals and ideas with key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of cost structures, profit margins, financial statements and performance target.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey pricing strategies to various stakeholders.
  • Understanding of general sales practices, sales enablement, channel sales, contract & risk management.
  • High level of accuracy in pricing data and decisions to avoid errors that can impact profitability.
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
  • Familiarity with ERP & CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce) for managing pricing and pricing updates.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) for conducting pricing analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ELSE’s pricing structure is competitive and aligned with market trends, customer demands, and value proposition.
  • Create tailored pricing models for different offerings STD, CTO and ETO
  • Develops and implements a sustainable process to gather market pricing data.
  • Conduct regular research on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor pricing strategies.
  • Continuously track competitor pricing strategies and industry trends to ensure ABB remains competitive in terms of pricing.
  • Analyze the price sensitivity of different product categories or customer segments and make data-driven decisions to optimize pricing strategies.
  • Maintain and manage accurate pricing data across various PG’s, products, regions, and customer segments.
  • Regularly analyze and develop a pricing structure and conditions to ensure products and services are priced to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Develop and implement pricing models (e.g., market-based pricing, value-based pricing) that align with both market and organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present regular pricing performance reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as price realization (NPV), Rebates performance and revenue growth.
  • Establishes pricing guidelines and ensures the application/ adherence within the relevant organization.
  • Collaborate with global pricing to ensure proper internal transfer pricing across local business units and regions and establishes the processes to manage pricing requests beyond the scope of agreed guidelines.
  • Support the PMS’ to define and set the pricing for individual products and services, considering production costs, competitor prices, perceived value, and maintaining pricing system update, appeals, and tool approvals.
  • This person is responsible for the implementation of pricing changes and overall data quality/updating versus only overseeing that responsibility.
