About The Position

Manages daily functions and processes related to the efficiency and adaptability of our bid product, bid tool, pricing and bid process. Is a liaison and subject matter expert who can recognize problems, formulate solutions and implement change in coordination with Manager and Leadership goals. Builds credibility and rapport with DLMP/MCL teams to make improvements and resolve issues. Will lead collaborations with bid software IT group to improve functionality of both test matching and pricing. Responsible for new test implementation and test notices with a global perspective to determine impact to matching, pricing and client fees and initiates proper action and communication. Must be comfortable with bid financials and understand the complexities of client pricing. Demonstrates a high level of competence and confidence and has the ability to work under pressure. Is able to navigate sensitive and/or contentious projects while maintaining good working relationships. The MCL business is constantly growing and evolving to meet the changing face of medicine; new markets, technologies, and clinical requirements require unique solutions and new services. The operations of the Bid Team requires the ability to respond in an agile and flexible fashion to these develops, combining past experience with creative problem solving to position MCS to functionally deliver on business opportunities. The Operations Pricing Coordinator-MCS reports to the Director of Pricing-MCS and collaborates across the different MCL departments to support complex activities and projects.

Requirements

  • Master's in business, healthcare, laboratory, science or finance and three years of related experience; OR Bachelor's in above field and five years of experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and understanding.
  • Self-directed work ethic, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent human relation skills.
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
  • Comfortable with bid financials and understanding the complexities of client pricing.
  • High level of competence and confidence.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive and/or contentious projects while maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to respond in an agile and flexible fashion to business developments.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology as well as MCL Operations is desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills in creating, modifying, and analyzing spreadsheets is helpful.
