About The Position

This role is built for a pricing leader who is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable owning both people and numbers. You will lead a team of Pricing Engineers responsible for executing pricing decisions across bids, customers, and strategic accounts. Your responsibility, aside from operational oversight, is raising the quality of thinking. You are expected to challenge assumptions, identify better ways of pricing, and ensure decisions are backed by data. This is a high-accountability, high-visibility role where pricing discipline directly impacts revenue, margin, and network efficiency. If you are looking for a role that is purely managerial or process-driven, this is not it. This role sits at the intersection of leadership, analytics, and commercial decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience in LTL, logistics, pricing, or other analytical commercial roles
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Strong technical foundation
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (modeling, analysis, not just reporting)
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Exposure to data tools or systems (AS400 or similar is a plus)
  • Analytical leadership capability
  • Strong mathematical and statistical reasoning ability
  • Ability to evaluate pricing logic and challenge assumptions
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets
  • Judgment and decision quality
  • Ability to challenge and elevate thinking
  • Coaching and talent development
  • Ownership of outcomes, not activity
  • Operating in ambiguity
  • Clear and decisive communication

  • Strong quantitative thinking. If your experience is primarily executing tasks without deeply understanding the data behind them, this role will not be a fit.
