About The Position

Develop, analyze and submit all pricing information for specific Center of Excellence. Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation’s efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate. Obtain pricing information (from Salesperson, Manufacturing, Purchasing. Customer Service, APCS or SalesForce) needed for price quotes, combine material and manufacturing costs (material prices, machine hour rates, machine speeds, waste, set up time, etc.) and create accurate price quotes for customers. Analyze how company costs compare with competitor’s prices/costs (received from Sales). Make appropriate recommendations (to Business Development Manager/Division Controller/Operations Manager) to ensure maximum profit should the decision to manufacture occur (manipulating material costs, waste, speed of machines, etc.). Initiate necessary interface with Production Control and Manufacturing in determining proposed adjustments. Coordinate completion of pricing in a timely manner and communicate status of any delays to sales personnel and Business Development Manager. Price and Analyze bids for volume, material needs and work with Technical and Purchasing to obtain cost. Analyze Pricing vs actual profit percentages. Price orders as needed working with Sales and CSR’s Create and update existing price matrixes should be corporate purchasing Continually create more efficient and effective matrixes (as well as pricing spreadsheets) utilizing state of the art computer software. Make recommendations for improving pricing process. Provide all necessary budgetary information as requested. Adhere to all company safety guidelines. Attend and participate in all company mandated meetings. Any other duties assigned by Division Business Development Manager. Business travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in business, accounting or related field, three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, customer specifications, graphics information, drawings and die lines.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb or balance.
  • The employee is regularly required to hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
