About The Position

As a Pricing Analyst on our Corporate Finance team, you'll bring together two closely connected parts of our business: helping win new work by supporting proposal pricing, and helping deliver on our current commitments by managing program-level finances across a portfolio of federally funded contracts and grants. You'll partner directly with Project Directors and Program/Contract Managers on budgeting and forecasting, and you'll provide matrixed support to Altarum's Corporate Program Management Office (PMO) — contributing cross-program financial analysis, dashboards, and status reporting. If you're a finance professional with a few years of experience looking to build deep expertise in government contract and nonprofit program finance, this role offers a strong foundation within a mission-driven organization.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant financial analysis, pricing, accounting, and program finance experience.
  • Experience in proposal pricing, cost volume development, or basis-of-estimate (BOE) preparation.
  • Familiarity with government contract types (cost-reimbursable, T&M, FFP) and basic FAR cost principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across finance, program, and PMO teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
  • All work must be performed within the continental U.S. for the duration of employment, unless required by contract.
  • Ability to work core hours aligned with Eastern Time, unless otherwise approved by your manager.
  • Remote employees must maintain a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions, with reliable internet and a mobile device that supports efficient work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or a similar government contract accounting/ERP system.
  • Exposure to PMO reporting practices or financial dashboarding tools.
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit, government contracting, or professional services environment.
  • Experience supporting federal health agency contracts (e.g., HHS, CMS, ONC) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of cost proposals and pricing volumes for new business and recompete opportunities, including basis-of-estimate (BOE) documentation.
  • Help build labor rate, escalation, and indirect rate build-ups for proposal pricing models, working closely with the Pricing and Contracts teams.
  • Prepare cost realism and competitive pricing analyses to support solicitation responses.
  • Coordinate with Business Development, Contracts, and Program teams to align pricing assumptions with program budgets and staffing plans.
  • Monthly financial reviews for your assigned programs and contracts, tracking actual costs against approved budgets and funding ceilings.
  • Prepare and maintain program budgets, spend plans, and cost forecasts (EAC/ETC) in coordination with Project Directors.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and prepare variance narratives and corrective-action recommendations for management review.
  • Track incurred costs, funding modifications, subcontractor spending, and contract ceiling balances.
  • Support period-end and program closeout activities, including final financial reporting for completing programs.
  • Serve as a financial liaison to Altarum's Corporate PMO, supplying program financial data for portfolio-level status reports, dashboards, and executive reviews.
  • Help consolidate program-level financial metrics — such as burn rate, EAC/ETC, and funding utilization — into standardized PMO reporting templates.
  • Support cross-program analysis to flag financial risks, funding gaps, or staffing/budget misalignments for PMO and finance leadership.
  • Participate in Integrated Program Reviews (IPRs) and program status meetings, contributing financial insight alongside Project Directors.
  • Help maintain consistency between program financial systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) and PMO reporting tools.
