About The Position

Preventive Maintenance Techs are responsible for performing tasks on machinery and equipment to promote consistent and reliable operation of key components.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical equipment
  • 1+ years of experience in a mechanically or electrically oriented role (preferably industrial)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
  • The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.

Responsibilities

  • Check and record fluid levels, cleanliness, and temperatures of various coolants, oils as required
  • Identify early warning signs of potential equipment failure (unusual data readings, noises, sounds, smells, other indicators)
  • Use basic monitoring tools to gather data from equipment (temperature guns, multimeters, ammeters, etc.)
  • Communicate with equipment operators to gather feedback on machine reliability and performance
  • Suggest changes and improvements to be made to maintain equipment reliability and performance
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks as directed (bolt on/off (piping, valves, etc.) adding fluids, changing filters, purging/bleeding systems)
  • Communicating with operators and maintenance team regarding additional actions needed to promote equipment reliability
  • Assist maintenance team with projects/repairs as needed
