About The Position

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all machinery, equipment, and facilities operated by Exline, Inc. This role ensures all equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and extend the life of company assets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive, preventive mindset.
  • Knowledge and consistent application of safety procedures including LOTO/TAGOUT.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple work orders simultaneously.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and coordinating with team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency in work order systems and email communication.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a preventive maintenance, industrial maintenance, or facilities technician role.
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) a plus.
  • Certifications in electrical, HVAC, or industrial maintenance are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on all production machinery, facility systems, and equipment per established PM schedules.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, identifying wear, potential failures, and safety hazards before they result in downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems including motors, belts, filters, seals, bearings, and related hardware.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment history in the maintenance log/CMMS system.
  • Respond promptly to emergency equipment breakdowns and unplanned maintenance requests.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, lighting, HVAC filters, doors, snow removal, and other projects.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repair work or equipment servicing as needed.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies; notify supervisor of low stock.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
