About The Position

This role is responsible for managing preventive maintenance (PM) operations for air compressors. The dispatcher will utilize various systems to assign work to PM technicians, optimize scheduling for customers and equipment, and ensure all PM services are completed within the scheduled interval efficiently. The position also involves handling customer service calls, managing work orders, ensuring the condition of technicians and equipment, leading technician development, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Formal Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 5-6 years
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Job requires complex problem solving ability with little guidance. Independent research and analysis are sometimes required to develop solutions.
  • Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
  • Job is not normally monitored, but overall objectives are clearly defined. Use of discretion in how the work is done, setting priorities and decision making is encouraged. More emphasis is placed on achieving the desired outcome, not on controlling the process.
  • Constant exposure to stress (more than 80% of the time).
  • Job frequently involves changes in priorities, complexity and/or quantity of work.
  • Work is scheduled during regular business hours with frequent requirements to work nights, holidays and weekends.

  • Updating of Knowledge: Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Wear and enforce wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Utilize PM Due Report, EMT, DBS and other relevant systems to assign work to the PM Technicians.
  • Assist the PM Technicians and customers, as necessary, to determine optimal scheduling for the customer and equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date on work status of PM Technicians and make necessary adjustments to achieve the goal of completing all PM Services within the scheduled interval and in the most efficient time.
  • Handle call in service from external and internal customers with professionalism and sense of urgency.
  • Follow up with customers as PM Services are completed by providing accurate and timeline PM Checklists.
  • Use various Dealer Business System (DBS) menus to manage Preventative Maintenance operations and work orders.
  • Support PM Technicians and conduct activities to ensure the successful and accurate management of the end-to-end work order process.
  • Ensure the appearance, maintenance and the condition of technicians, equipment, tooling, and trucks is kept at the highest level per company guidelines.
  • Assure vehicle and tooling inspections/maintenance are completed and accurate.
  • Schedule and conduct Safety Meetings on relevant topics, keep attendee list documented and saved.
  • Actively lead the development of Preventative Maintenance Technician through frequent coaching and formal performance reviews.
  • Support the selection and hiring of PM technicians and trainees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
