Prevention Specialist/Program Facilitator - Part Time
About The Position
The Center for Humanistic Change (CHC), based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is hiring part-time Prevention Program Specialists to deliver prevention education and evidence-based programming. The role facilitates prevention programs and trainings in schools for students of all ages and shares community awareness and information at events and health fairs in the Lehigh Valley. Drug and alcohol prevention programs are a core service. Work is available during the school year and summer. Daytime availability is required, as is flexibility to assist with evening and weekend programs. Part-time specialists may work up to four days per week and no more than 29 hours per week. Training on curriculum materials will be provided; familiarity with them is a plus. Successful candidates can work independently and collaboratively, manage paperwork and electronic data-entry deadlines, and relate well to youth and adults. They will use sound judgment, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills, and MS Office proficiency. Adaptability, keeping current with prevention trends and technology, and willingness to learn are also important. Selected candidates will be asked to give a brief mock presentation during the interview process. Applicants must have reliable transportation, access to mobile and home internet, and the ability to do light lifting to transport files and other materials. Staff must obtain and maintain required state and local training and clearances, including PA Child Abuse history clearance, PA State Police background clearance, FBI fingerprinting, mandated child abuse reporter training, and abuse prevention training. Clearances and criminal record checks must comply with laws governing work in schools and with children. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter; degree transcripts will be required.
