About The Position

The Prevention Services Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing prevention programs serving the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. This position ensures the delivery of culturally grounded, community-informed, and evidence-based prevention services that address substance use, behavioral health, youth engagement, and other public health priorities impacting the Tribe. The Supervisor provides direct supervision to staff, ensures compliance with Tribal and grant requirements, and strengthens coordination across HSD programs and external partners to improve health outcomes for the Tribe’s population.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Community Health or a related health field
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in public health, prevention services, community-based health programming, behavioral health or substance use prevention initiatives and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee prevention programs specifically serving the community, ensuring responsiveness to local needs and priorities
  • Lead implementation of culturally appropriate prevention strategies that reflect Pascua Yaqui values, traditions, and community strengths
  • Identify service gaps in the community and develop targeted program enhancements
  • Ensure programs are accessible, community-based, and responsive to youth, families, and high-risk populations
  • Supervise staff and community-based staff assigned to prevention programs
  • Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability measures for all staff
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Provide coaching and support to ensure staff are effectively engaging the community
  • Coordinate prevention activities across HSD programs serving the community (Behavioral Health, Public Health, Youth Services, etc.)
  • Ensure prevention efforts are integrated with clinical and community services
  • Support alignment with Tribal-wide initiatives while maintaining a strong community-specific focus
  • Facilitate collaboration with schools, community organizations, and local partners in the community
  • Ensure all community-based prevention programs meet grant requirements and reporting expectations
  • Monitor program budgets and resource allocation to ensure effective use of funds in the community
  • Review and approve program reports, data submissions, and deliverables
  • Support audits and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Oversee data collection and reporting specific to prevention services in the community
  • Monitor program performance and outcomes to ensure effectiveness
  • Use data to inform program improvements and strategic decision-making
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to leadership and funding agencies
  • Serve as a key representative of HSD prevention efforts within the community
  • Build and maintain relationships with Tribal members, community leaders, schools, and local organizations
  • Support culturally appropriate outreach, education, and engagement strategies
  • Ensure community voice is incorporated into program planning and improvement
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned by the HSD Executive Leadership and CSP Director.
