In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the reliability and performance of our equipment through thorough inspections, routine maintenance, and consistent documentation. Your work will directly support production uptime, team safety, and equipment longevity. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of industrial mechanical systems: bearings, belts, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience in maintaining heavy industrial machinery/equipment
  • JLG/Scissor lift experience
  • Willingness to work any shift to meet business needs
  • Are you legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa Sponsorship? (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a Visa now or in the future)

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or electrical systems.
  • 1 year industrial or mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings

Responsibilities

  • Perform PM tasks such as inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs using established checklists.
  • Inspect conveyors, rollers, cranes, furnaces, cooling systems, and other equipment to identify wear or potential issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools to assess equipment.
  • Record findings, completed work, and equipment conditions accurately in logs and digital systems.
  • Work with maintenance teammates and operators to communicate equipment status and support smooth shift transitions.
  • Develop skills by learning new equipment, maintenance practices, and predictive technologies
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
