About The Position

We are seeking a Preventive Maintenance Tech to perform routine maintenance on gas-powered shuttles and buses. This role involves light diagnostics, tire repairs, oil changes, brake replacements, HVAC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and general fleet mechanic duties. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. This is a full-time position with a swing shift schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the maintenance shop operates 24/7.

Requirements

2+ years of automotive service (Required).
2+ years of automotive repair (Required).
Must have a clean driving history.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays (maintenance shop is open 24/7).
Dependable, self-motivated, and strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a structured environment.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs, bending, squatting, or kneeling as needed.
Safety-focused and able to recognize potential mechanical defects
Professional and courteous communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance of shuttles and buses (gas-powered).
Conduct light diagnostics of shuttle issues that arise.
Handle tire repairs and tire changes.
Complete oil changes, brake replacements, and general servicing.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Conduct body work and other general fleet mechanic duties.
Diagnose, inspect, and overhaul transit vehicles in a timely and professional manner.
