About The Position

The Preventative Maintenance Assistant Technician is responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment, machinery and facilities by performing scheduled inspections and basic troubleshooting and repair to keep operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently, helping to minimize downtime, extend asset life, and support continuous optimal performance. The Preventative Maintenance Assistant Technician also keeps accurate maintenance records, follows established safety procedures, and helps to diagnose and resolve equipment and facility-related issues.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working on machinery or automotive equipment using basic hand tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools common to the building maintenance trade
  • Possess a willingness to follow safety procedures at all times, respecting safety warning signs
  • Possess a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations
  • Ability to read and follow operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Possess general knowledge of building maintenance trades
  • Familiarity of Material Safety Data Sheets and proper chemical handling

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity in multiple skilled trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, machining)
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks
  • Ability to work occasional overtime based on company needs

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicle between plants to perform tasks assigned
  • Inspect industrial equipment for proper operation
  • Clean CNC machines, dust collectors, vents, vacuum pumps, air compressors and other related machinery
  • Change oil, hydraulic fluids, and belts, and grease zerk fittings
  • Service, clean, or replace air filters accordingly
  • Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams or technical manuals
  • Perform initial diagnostics of equipment failure and make necessary adjustments, repairs, or escalate issues accordingly
  • Document and report equipment malfunction and safety concerns
  • Manage coordination’s of equipment downtime with stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records; enter data onto spreadsheets and company database
  • Pick up tools and supplies at local vendors as requested
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Other duties as assigned
