About The Position
Blue Ridge Court Services is seeking a Pretrial Officer to investigate and supervise pretrial defendants referred by the courts of Rockbridge County, Lexington, and Buena Vista. The position is stationed in the Lexington office. It is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits. The position is open until filled.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or criminal justice is required.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the criminal justice system is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Screen and interview individuals detained in the Rockbridge Regional Jail for possible referral.
- Prepare pretrial reports for courts.
- Supervise pretrial defendants.
- Maintain files, statistics, and reports.
