About The Position

Adherent to all policies, procedures, rules, quality and customer service standards set forth by the company. Identify safety hazards in the workplace and report them to management. Comply to all safety guidelines put into place by MI Metals. Ensures that Machine that is being operated is in a safe working order. Uses walking beams to bring the metal across the table after it has been extruded. Check the temperature of the metal to ensure hot metal is not being stretched. Places metal into stretcher jaws. Inspect the metal with a measuring device to determine how the metal must be stretched. Stretches the metal with appropriate tools and equipment, and inspects to ensure a proper stretch has been performed and metal is straight. Remove the metal from the stretcher jaws and place onto next set of walking arms/belts that lead to the saw. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area. Follow all safety rules and practices and report unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor immediately. Monitor equipment during operation to identify potential mechanical issues that could cause injury, equipment damage, or product defects.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
