About The Position

Barnes Aerospace West Chester OEM division is seeking a Press Set-Up Operator for the second shift. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and works Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and is motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.

The operator performs set-ups and operations of cell equipment, supports cell productivity and product quality, and contributes to cross-training, 6S, and Lean improvements. The role also involves checking parts with precision measuring tools, following production priorities, and communicating daily issues and production updates to the Supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a production or shop position with set-up experience.
• Mechanical and/or hydraulic press set-up experience.
• Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and work with fractions, decimals, or percentages.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing about work requirements, work in progress, and work completion.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and/or operate cell equipment.
• Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) on equipment as required.
• Be responsible for cell productivity and the quality of products produced in the area.
• Conduct in-cell cross-training.
• Use precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Support 6S and Lean improvements in the cell.
• Support production when manpower is unavailable.
• Follow the area priority board to meet daily production requirements.
• Communicate daily issues to the Supervisor and update daily production boards.
