About The Position

The Press Operator position is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and monitoring press machinery and equipment to meet customer and production goals. This role involves completing press machine setups, monitoring the production process, troubleshooting equipment, and performing routine maintenance. The operator will also train machine assistants and new crew members, maintain a clean work area, adhere to all safety guidelines, and complete necessary documentation. Effective collaboration with other departments is essential for coordinating production activities and addressing issues.

Requirements

  • HS/GED required
  • 2-4 years' experience in a related field required
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely sets up, operates, and monitors press machinery and equipment as intended and needed to meet customer and production goals.
  • Completes press machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Monitors the production process, inspects and tests materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.
  • Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.
  • Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.
  • Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized by meeting housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member.
  • Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.
  • Effectively works with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise.
  • All other duties as assigned.
