About The Position

Performs duties of operating automated and non-automated press equipment. Responsible for the overall quality, safety, and efficient operation of the process. Assists in performing maintenance on the equipment and tooling as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • The ability to read and comprehend written work instructions.
  • The ability to write effective correspondence.
  • The ability to assist with writing work instructions and set up procedures.
  • The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers, and other associates within the organization.
  • The ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers, multiply, and divide.
  • The ability to use and accurately read micrometers, dial calipers, digital indicators, tape measures, feeler gages, and taper gages in standard and metric measurements.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls; reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see, and hear.
  • The associate is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The associate is required to rotate their torso and view behind them to operate required equipment.
  • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to perform repetitive work tasks.
  • The associate must be available to work scheduled overtime and assist in emergency situations.
  • The associate must have the flexibility to work various shift hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or training operating production press/stamping equipment
  • ABB Robotic experience: pick & place and adjust as needed
  • Safely and effectively operate material handling equipment, including cranes and forklifts

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Responsible for following all established company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all functions of machine operation, setup, and changeover.
  • Keep all machines in good working order and provide thorough and clear communication to your supervisor, following shift and technical services.
  • Review process book daily for new quality or process changes and be responsible for any changes or countermeasures put in place.
  • Make tooling adjustments and tooling changes as needed.
  • The ability to re-teach/touch up ABB robotic points.
  • Perform troubleshooting, minor machine and tool repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist skilled trades in troubleshooting, machine repair, die repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist other Press Operators with troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and real-time production and quality reporting.
  • Ensure all equipment logs are filled out and accurate.
  • Participate in corrective action or continuous improvement activities when necessary.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently perform all assignments.
  • Ensure all quality standards are met as required by the process books and inspection instructions.
  • Responsible for reworking the product as required.
  • Be available to attend future training as deemed necessary for this position.
  • Ability to operate a forklift at level 4 or above.
  • Performs loading, unloading, and assembly operations as required by the assigned machine.
  • The ability to effectively train future individuals for this position.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor or designee.
