About The Position

Taylor Corporation is looking for a Press Operator to join our team in Tampa, FL. This role involves carrying out detailed instructions from job orders accurately and precisely, identifying and correcting errors, setting up and adjusting the press for job runs, monitoring product quality and equipment during runs, and performing routine maintenance. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and technical skills, strong math skills, the ability to operate equipment to meet production and quality standards, and understand verbal and written instructions.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and technical skills or aptitude
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to read a ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization
  • Ability to operate equipment and build proficiency as measured through production and quality standards
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions for work orders
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products, including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds, including lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying

Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed instructions from job orders accurately and precisely.
  • Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct them.
  • Set up and adjust the press for job runs to meet specifications.
  • Monitor product quality during job runs and check work against specifications.
  • Take action to correct any quality issues.
  • Monitor equipment during job runs, remain alert to mechanical issues, and refer problems to maintenance as needed.
  • Start and run jobs in alignment with the production schedule.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Meet standards for output, waste, and spoilage.
