Salt Lake City - Swing Shift Lead in Training / Press Operator
About The Position
Corning is looking for our next generation of Cell Leads to complete our Lead in Training program. Openings available on Day Shift, Swing Shift, and Grave shift. Your first 90 days are spent as a Press Operator learning how to run machines and safely make high quality products. Upon completion of Press Operator training, you will enter our Lead in Training program to learn how to lead a cell. Upon successful completion of this program, you graduate to a Cell Lead role. All roles are hourly positions. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery to manufacture finished good items such as pipettes, plates, and racks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing experience required.
- This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Advanced certification or education may be accepted in lieu of experience minimums.
Responsibilities
- Operates line equipment in assigned cell and may be assigned to numerous cells including molding press machines, assembling and packaging of product, monitoring output quality and quantity, and making minor adjustments to machines within defined parameters.
- Records production information and event occurrences.
- Performs daily housekeeping and waste removal.
- Performs routine monitoring and inspection activities per product specifications at each stage of production.
- Completes production records, recording relevant data onto forms or via electronic data entry; ensures accuracy and good documentation practices per company standards.
- Stages raw materials, in-process products, and finished products per current procedures.
- Works with tools, cleaning equipment, and chemicals demonstrating proper safety precautions.
- Relieves other team members for absences or break periods and rotate duties as required.
- Assembles, packages, labels, palletizes and stages products per specifications & procedures.
