About The Position

The Press Operator is an essential member of the team who manufactures printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. The operator prepares and runs the press according to customer specifications, maintaining product quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency. The role also includes completing quality checks, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and production documentation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
Ability to stand; use hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; and talk and hear.
Ability to walk frequently.
Ability to occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Follow all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines, and report safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
Complete press make-ready according to Job Ticket and Product Specification documents, using the correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
Complete required product-specification, visual, functional, and press-side quality checks.
Operate the press to meet customer specifications while maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency.
Maintain consistent production quality, including copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion, and ensure conformance with other quality checks.
Complete procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements required by the BRC standard.
Complete press make-readies efficiently.
Perform required equipment maintenance duties.
Clean plates, cylinders, and ink pans, and lubricate the press as needed.
Enter material usage and time information accurately and promptly into the GlobeTek system.
