About The Position
RRD is seeking a skilled and reliable Offset Sheetfed Press Operator for second or third shift. The role operates and maintains Man-Roland sheetfed presses, including 4-color (2/2) presses, and focuses on maintaining print quality, accurate color density, and successful production runs. The operator will cross-train and support flexographic printing operations as needed. The position sets up, adjusts, operates, and maintains press equipment. It performs make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, inspecting plates or cylinders for imperfections and image positioning, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension and register. The operator also conducts routine maintenance and press checks, cleans and lubricates equipment, and makes minor repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as required. Dependable attendance and teamwork are important.
Requirements
- Proven experience maintaining and operating Man-Roland sheetfed presses.
- Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications and determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
- Ability to make precise settings and adjustments and perform routine operational maintenance.
- Skill in routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- Knowledge of the packing pressure needed to obtain proper printing pressure for different jobs.
- Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates correctly.
