About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This role involves setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining a gravure press or a multi-color offset press to print various types of work with critical color values and registration requirements. The operator will review job specifications, perform make-ready tasks, make necessary adjustments for quality, and maintain the press. This position offers a $4,000 sign-on bonus. The national pay range is $27.00 - $45/hour, with the actual pay varying based on factors like location, education, skills, and experience.

Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment.
Skill in a wide variety of complex manipulations and mechanical procedures to perform a variety of tasks to set-up, make major adjustments, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment.
Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully.
Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a gravure press or a multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work with critical color values and registration requirements.
Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run.
Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register.
Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain quality specifications.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
