About The Position

Jefferson Industries Corporation, the North American headquarters for G-TEKT Corporation, is a key player in the Global Automotive Industry. We specialize in the design and development of press dies and other tools for automotive product manufacturing. We are seeking experienced Press Maintenance Technicians to join our team on the 2nd Shift.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends when required.
  • 2-4 year engineering degree or 2-4 years of maintenance experience.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Intuitive problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to stand up to 10 hours per day with frequent walking.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience with hand/power tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Mitsubishi's PLC or equivalent knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support production in meeting daily requirements by repairing and improving production equipment.
  • Perform equipment repairs and improvements identified from PM inspections and downtime analysis to meet monthly downtime goals.
  • Conduct monthly analysis of downtime, potentially using why/why analysis or similar methods, to identify machines causing the most downtime.
  • Perform daily 5S organization of work areas, ensuring electrical cabinets are closed, no maintenance items are line-side, guards are properly installed, and general clean-up activities are completed.
  • Assist engineering with equipment installation.
  • Investigate quality-related incidents, identify root causes, and implement countermeasures.
  • Verify MRO has appropriate spare parts for daily operation.
  • Respond to calls during production and make necessary repairs in a timely manner, monitoring radios at all times for calls and assistance needs.
  • Log into and out of the Plexus workcenter when working on a line.
  • Be responsible for assigned work areas and support surrounding areas as needed, answering calls for absent technicians.
  • Coordinate breaks and lunches with other technicians to ensure continuous press call coverage.
  • Complete assigned work orders as scheduled and update supervisors upon completion.
  • Record programmable device back-ups as changes are made.
  • Follow all safety policies and ensure correct use of all PPE.
  • Initiate needed training to maintain skills and knowledge.
  • Verify downtime entries in Plexus are correct and make entries into the Equipment Log regarding downtime reasons, solutions, change point controls, reoccurring problems, and parts replacement.
  • Review the Equipment Log at the beginning of each shift.
  • Follow up with operators/line associates and Team Leaders daily to check for reoccurring problems or failures.
  • Fill in timesheets on a daily basis.
  • Review the maintenance communication board daily for business plan updates, improvements, and downtime causes.
  • Complete assigned PM tasks and assist in identifying future PM tasks.
  • Perform PM inspections, request work orders for items that cannot be fixed during inspection, and use inspection data to identify PM tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
