About The Position

Jefferson Industries Corporation, the North American headquarters for G-TEKT Corporation, is a key player in the Global Automotive Industry. We specialize in the design and development of press dies and other tools essential for automotive product manufacturing. Our commitment to high-quality production is matched by our flexible and timely approach to customer needs. We are currently seeking an Apprentice to join our Press Maintenance team, specifically for the 3rd shift. This apprenticeship program is a 2-year commitment designed to develop individuals into skilled Press Maintenance Technicians.

Requirements

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work odd shifts, weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and overtime.
  • Must be quality-oriented and understand how every task may impact quality.
  • Perform job duties in a safe, effective, and accurate manner.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Must be a self-starter with a continuous improvement agenda.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bi-weekly inspections on all presses and report findings in PLEX inspection report.
  • Perform monthly inspections on all presses and report findings in PLEX inspection report.
  • Perform monthly inspections on all scrap conveyors and report findings in PLEX inspection report.
  • Support shutdown activities.
  • Verify needed spare parts are on hand and stocked. Items not controlled by MRO may need to be added.
  • Perform basic maintenance activities, which may include basic wiring or similar tasks.
  • Record all work in Plex, detailing the task performed and the time taken.
  • Collaborate with Press Maintenance Technicians to acquire the technical skills necessary to become a Press Maintenance Technician.
  • Adhere to all Safety Policies and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
