About The Position

Modern Litho is a local, family-owned printing company specializing in commercial printing. The Press Helper assists the Operator with duties required to operate an offset press and helps ensure the quality of the printed image and accurate registration. The role requires independently reading job tickets to understand job specifications and consistently staging plates and paper for the next job.

The Press Helper identifies the correct paper weight, brand, and finish; hangs plates according to job tickets; keeps the press and work area clean; sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots roll and skid feeders; and enters time, materials, and costs into a computer system. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with overtime available.

Requirements

• Must be quality-minded and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attendance and good work ethic.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to operate equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Mathematical skills to compute percentages, weights, and measurements.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operator with duties required for operation of the offset press.

• Stage plates and paper for the next job.
