About The Position

Kenney Industries is seeking an experienced Press Brake Setup Operator to independently set up and run press brake jobs in its Dallas, Texas sheet metal fabrication operation. The company is an ISO 9001-certified contract manufacturer with about 45 employees and has been building parts for demanding customers since 1968. The role involves reading engineering prints and forming steel, stainless steel, and aluminum parts while maintaining dimensional tolerances and coordinating with other production teams.

Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on press brake setup experience; experience limited to running parts set up by someone else does not meet the stated requirement.
CNC press brake experience.
Ability to work out bend sequences and recognize when a part cannot be formed as drawn.
Solid shop math and measuring skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for a full shift.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a job shop with high-mix, low-volume work.
Offline bend programming experience.
Experience with a specific CNC press brake brand (the brand name is not provided in the posting).

Responsibilities

Read engineering prints, including bend callouts, flat patterns, and GD&T.
Set up press brakes by selecting and installing tooling, aligning dies, setting backgauges, and entering or editing programs and offsets.
Form steel, stainless steel, and aluminum parts across a range of thicknesses.
Perform first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, protractors, and radius gauges.
Adjust for springback and material variation to maintain tolerances.
Coordinate with cutting, welding, and quality teams to keep jobs moving.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
