About The Position

Responsible to set-up and operate both automated and manual press brakes per work instructions and to achieve specified quality standards and production rates. Analyzes print and routing to determine best method to fabricate parts including review of sequence of planned operations and production requirements. Verifies material complies with requirements, selects tooling and makes adjustments, as required. Creates or modifies programs for CNC press brakes at the machine or off-line. Sets up press brake or other bending equipment to bend, notch, punch, form or straighten the part per print specifications and routing instructions. Inspects work piece for conformance to specifications using inspection or measurement instruments and adjusts set-up to achieve compliance. Operates equipment to produce parts and continues to monitor for compliance with quality and production rate requirements. Mains accurate counts of parts; attaches labels or tags to finished part containers identifying customer, part number, quantity, and shop order information. Utilizes the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced and any rejected parts. Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate job activities. Follow all safety procedures and wears safety equipment and apparel as required Perform all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards Ensure on a daily basis that the work area is clean, organized and does not contain any safety hazards (May) Use hand tools to straighten parts, remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work pieces, using hammer, file, hand grinder or wire brush.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing-related education or work experience in a metal fabrication facility
  • Prior press brake equipment setup/programming experience
  • Proficiency in a minimum of 50% of CNC controls
  • Ability to read a print, perform shop mathematics calculations, and use a micrometer/caliper

Nice To Haves

  • Model Maker apprenticeship completed
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Basic computer literacy with the ability to perform tasks within the company’s ERP system (Epicor, a plus)
