METAL FABRICATOR (PRESS BRAKE) 1st Shift
About The Position
PVS Metals is looking for a Press Brake Operator who takes precision seriously. This isn’t a button-pushing role — you’ll be reading blueprints, setting up tooling, dialing in tolerances, and turning flat metal into finished parts that meet exact customer specifications. If you know your way around a press brake and take pride in running it right, we want to talk. The core schedule is Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour days. Friday overtime is scheduled as needed to meet production demands. At $21–$23/hr with OT on top when it runs, the pay is competitive for operators who bring real skill to the job.
Requirements
- Proven press brake experience — or strong background in metal fabrication with press brake exposure
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric tolerances and flat pattern layouts
- Competent with basic dimensional measuring and precision measurement tools
- Attention to detail and accuracy in setup, measurements, and operations
- Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to maintain quality and pace
- Commitment to safety, quality, and showing up ready to work
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape metal components with precision per customer specifications
- Read blueprints, work orders, and pick tickets to verify programs and set up tooling for each job and part
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of print reading, geometric tolerances, and flat pattern layout
- Check parts against calibrated devices to ensure accuracy of bends; report any deviation to supervision
- Set up, load, and operate the machine; monitor quality throughout the run
- Assist with packaging of finished parts per customer requirements
- Inspect equipment status and report defects to maintenance promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
- Support and encourage fellow crew members
