About The Position

The basic function of the Press Brake operator is to set up and operate forming machines to fabricate parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Analyze work orders, work pieces, and blueprints. Set up and operate machines as required to manufacture parts. Check parts throughout production run, using company supplied measuring equipment to monitor quality and repeatability of process. Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications and blue prints by use of appropriate measuring devices. Accurately fill out work order routers with correct quantity of good parts and scrap parts.

Requirements

  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, specifications, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Calculate figures and formulas that pertain to the work area.
  • Problem-solve undefined expectations.
  • Computer literate.
  • Work well in a team environment, demonstrate good communication skills, and maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Use of hands and arms to operate equipment; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Being able to see (20/25 vision with or without glasses) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.

Nice To Haves

  • Two year degree and/or equivalent experience
