About The Position

As a Press Brake Operator at McLanahan, you'll play a critical role in transforming raw material into precision-formed components used throughout our equipment. In this hands-on position, you'll operate press brake equipment, interpret blueprints, verify measurements, and ensure parts are produced accurately, safely, and on schedule. Requirements

  • Experience operating press brake equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
  • Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with press brake punches, dies, and protractors preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and rigging equipment preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and various shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press brake equipment
  • Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form metal parts according to engineering specifications.
  • Read blueprints and layout parts
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and complete layout work to ensure accurate bends, angles, and finished dimensions.
  • Verify quality and measurements
  • Use measuring tools, protractors, punches, and dies to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Load and move materials safely
  • Load and unload materials while utilizing overhead cranes and material handling equipment when needed.
  • Support production goals
  • Produce quality parts efficiently while meeting production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, keep workspaces organized, and support 5S and safety initiatives.
  • Cross-train and support the team
  • Learn additional equipment and processes while working closely with teammates to maintain a smooth production flow.
